But this success story has a dark side.
As Kenya's rhino population grows in conservancies, male competition intensifies. These protected rhinos, shielded from poachers, now engage in deadly battles for territory. The irony is stark: rhinos, saved from extinction, now threaten each other's lives. A daring plan emerges to relocate 21 rhinos 100 miles to Loisaba Conservancy, a move fraught with risk. A previous attempt ended tragically, with all 11 rhinos perishing.
Just as the relocation plan is about to unfold, Kenya faces a devastating drought, a crisis for locals dependent on agriculture and livestock. Bandits terrorize farms, and poaching rises. The film, however, fails to address the looming threat of the climate crisis to endangered species. While Hardy's narration could have been more comprehensive, the soundtrack choices, including a sentimental rendition of 'Knockin' on Heaven's Door,' somewhat distract from the narrative.
