Exciting changes are on the horizon for Longwater Retail Park, as construction for a brand new TK Maxx store is set to kick off in February!
The Bullen Group, a Norwich-based developer, has officially announced its plans to bring the city’s third TK Maxx location to life at this retail hub. Known for its incredible deals on designer apparel and home goods, this upcoming store will occupy a currently vacant area adjacent to the popular Next store.
In terms of size, the new retail outlet is anticipated to span an impressive 17,500 square feet, including a mezzanine level that adds another 14,750 square feet of shopping space. The South Norfolk Council gave the green light to this project back in December, which also includes enhancements such as additional parking facilities and improved access to the store, ensuring a more pleasant shopping experience for everyone.
Work is slated to commence in February, with Bullen Group leaders optimistic about welcoming shoppers by late 2026. A representative from the company expressed their enthusiasm, stating, "We are thrilled to see this significant development at Longwater advancing. This project is the result of extensive collaboration with TK Maxx, local authorities, and the broader project team, aiming to deliver a high-quality initiative that enriches the current retail landscape at Longwater."
However, not everyone is on board with the development. Some residents have voiced their concerns about the potential for increased traffic chaos as a result of the new store’s opening. One resident recounted a frightening incident where a serious accident nearly occurred, highlighting a lack of safe pedestrian crossings since the introduction of ALDI nearby.
Despite these worries, the planners from the district council have maintained that the new TK Maxx will not significantly disrupt the existing road network. Both National Highways and the Norfolk County Council Highways Authority have reviewed the plans and raised no objections.
