The F1 world is buzzing with excitement as a racing legend predicts multiple championship victories for a young star! But is this forecast too bold?
Former F1 champion Damon Hill has boldly predicted that Lando Norris will claim an astonishing three to four championship titles in his career, following his recent triumph in the 2025 season. This forecast comes after Norris secured his first-ever championship win, edging out Max Verstappen by a mere two points in a thrilling finale at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Norris' victory places him among the elite few who have claimed the title since the championship's inception in 1950. But the list of drivers with multiple titles is even more exclusive, and Hill believes Norris has what it takes to join this prestigious group.
Hill, who himself won the 1996 F1 championship, shared his insights on the Stay on Track podcast: "Once you've won one, there's a sense of comfort. It's about how much you want to keep winning. Michael Schumacher won five, and you'd think that's enough, but he kept going. Some drivers are propelled by that first win to achieve multiple championships. I believe Lando has the potential for more than one, possibly three or four."
Norris' win also marked a significant achievement over his teammate, Oscar Piastri, who led the standings for most of the season. Hill anticipates an intense rivalry between the two as Piastri seeks to improve and challenge Norris for the top spot.
"Oscar was no slouch last season," Hill noted. "He had his moments but will spend the off-season analyzing how to improve. Both drivers have experienced a tight title race with Max, and they'll learn from that. It will be a powerful duo, but Oscar will be even more determined to beat Lando next time."
And here's where it gets controversial: Is Hill's prediction an accurate assessment, or is it an overestimation of Norris' potential? With the ever-evolving nature of F1 and the fierce competition, only time will tell if Norris can live up to these lofty expectations.
