In a shocking turn of events, four lives were tragically taken and eleven others left injured in Ybor City, Tampa, on a fateful Saturday morning. Tampa Police Chief Lee Bercaws reported that officers initially spotted two vehicles racing near Hanna and Nebraska Avenues, with one of them veering onto the I-275 Southbound and later exiting downtown. The Florida Highway Patrol joined the pursuit, leading the vehicles to Nebraska Avenue and Palm Avenue, where a pit maneuver was attempted. The driver, identified as 22-year-old Silas Sampson, plowed into a group of pedestrians on 7th Avenue near 15th Street. Three pedestrians were pronounced dead at the scene, and a fourth victim succumbed to their injuries at a hospital.
