A medical scare briefly interrupted All-American Rejects’ performance at KROQ’s Almost Acoustic Christmas when frontman Tyson Ritter stopped the finale mid-song to assist a fan who had fainted in the crowd.
TMZ obtained footage showing the moment during the band’s rendition of “Gives You Hell” inside the packed Los Angeles Kia Forum. Ritter paused the music, took the mic, and directed security to help the audience member who had collapsed.
From the stage, Ritter calmly urged the crowd to clear a path and lend a hand, adding a touch of holiday whimsy by suggesting people grab the woman some “Twinkies or sugar or Christmas gumdrops or pieces of gingerbread houses” to help her recover. He also checked in with, “Are you okay?” while observing her removal from the pit.
Once the woman was safely assisted and the situation stabilized, Ritter resumed the chorus and completed the song.
The incident became one of the evening’s memorable moments at the annual holiday concert, which featured a star-studded lineup including Third Eye Blind, Evanescence, Papa Roach, Yellowcard, Social Distortion, and Rise Against.
As is tradition at Almost Acoustic, fans were treated to a surprise encore from 4 Non Blondes.
